There are 3 methods for recording with Plays: Automatic, Manual, and Desktop. You can choose which one you want to use in the Plays app Settings under "Video"

Automatic Recording will begin recording as soon as it is able when the game starts.

If you decide to use Manual Recording, you'll have the choice of setting a hotkey to stop/start recording.

Desktop Recording works by activating the same hotkeys as you set it for Manual Recording or you can manually press "START RECORDING" located in the Home section. You can stop recording by pressing "STOP RECORDING".

Please note, at this moment, Desktop Recording is only available for Windows 10 Nvidia desktops. More rig support coming soon!

We also have a suite of Replay Tools you can use while you're recording.

Bookmark:

This will allow you to quickly find key moments in your full recording. When you place a manual bookmark while playing, it will appear in the video timeline like this:

Instant Replay:

Similar to the "Save Clip" function below, however the difference is with Instant Replay you can watch it while in the game. You can learn more about it here.

Clip:

This will just take the last set amount of time that happened, and save it in a separate video file.

If you have Automatically Upload Clips, clips up to 30 seconds will be uploaded automatically to the site as an unlisted/private video.

If you want to change the quality of your recordings, scroll down til you get to "Quality Presets".

You can use our recommended settings, or adjust the quality for yourself.

Video Resolution: 480p, 720p or 1080p

Framerate: 15, 30, or 60 FPS

Bitrate: 5mb/s - 50mb/s (Increments of 5)

Webcam:

If you have the Record Webcam option enabled, your cam will be recorded over your gameplay. You can select the camera you'd like, its location, and how transparent you'd like it to be.

Once you have gotten into the game and recorded some gameplay, you can exit the client and see your new recording:
