This is a Visual C++ error that can happen to some users. Currently we recommend:

  • Making sure the Plays App and whatever game is affected are not running in Compatibility Mode (Which can be accessed by right-clicking the exe and selecting Properties)
  • Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3. You may need to download the x64 and x86 versions. (LINK TO MICROSOFT PAGE)
  • If you're not using Windows 10, you could also try updating your Universal C Runtime for Windows (LINK TO MICROSOFT PAGE)
